What are the requirements for becoming a Gold Canyon Demonstrator?

As a Gold Canyon Demonstrator, you have the opportunity to develop friendships, to earn a competitive income and to develop professionally. The basic requirements of becoming a Gold Canyon Demonstrator are as follows:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S. or a citizen of a U.S. Territory or Canada
  • Possess a legitimate Social Security number
  • Sign and submit a Demonstrator Agreement

How do I earn money?

Independent Demonstrators develop successful home-based candle businesses by selling Gold Canyon candle, body and bath products and home decor through home candle Parties and catalog Parties, their personalized e-commerce website and fundraisers as well as by sponsoring others to share Gold Canyon products. How much money will I make as a Demonstrator?

How do I get started?

1. Complete a Demonstrator Agreement online. You’ll need the last name and six-digit Demonstrator ID of the Demonstrator who shared this information packet with you.
2. Await the arrival of your Demonstrator Kit — it is usually shipped within just a few days.
3. Kick off your new career as a Demonstrator by holding your first Gold Canyon Party.
4. Be rewarded in FREE products through Gold Canyon’s Quick Start program.

How long will it take from me to receive my Demonstrator Kit?

It will take 5-7 business days to receive your Demonstrator Kit in the mail. Each Demonstrator Kit is shipped via UPS.

Does Gold Canyon offer health insurance?

Through Gold Canyon’s affiliation with the Direct Selling Association (DSA), all active Gold Canyon Demonstrators are eligible to participate in DSA insurance programs. For more information or to request a brochure on the different programs available, call (800) 657-8620 and ask for the DSA Insurance Department.

What is the best way for me to communicate with home office?

Given the dynamic nature of our industry, communication between a Demonstrator and Gold Canyon is critical. Gold Canyon uses Essentials OnLine as its primary method of communication with all Demonstrators. Demonstrators are invited to contact Gold Canyon through e-mail or phone at 1-866-737-8311. Each Demonstrator is encouraged to have these communication capabilities available.

What happens if I do not reach my minimum sales requirement?

To be considered an active Gold Canyon Demonstrator, a Demonstrator must submit a minimum of $450.00 in commissionable sales (catalog priced items and Fundraiser sales) per calendar quarter and $1,800.00 every 12 months. Demonstrators must begin achieving personal sales minimums the quarter following the quarter in which they enrolled. Demonstrators must also be in compliance with the Gold Canyon Demonstrator Manual, Statement of Policies, Terms and Conditions and all amendments thereto. As an active Gold Canyon Demonstrator, you are entitled to the full benefits of being an active Demonstrator. An active Demonstrator’s Agreement shall renew automatically on each anniversary date. How will I get paid?

Demonstrators may have their commission payments transferred directly to their account if their monthly commission amount exceeds $10.00. For Demonstrators who prefer to receive their checks by mail, commission checks for override commissions earned during the prior month will be mailed out on approximately the tenth day of the month if the check amount exceeds $10.00.

Can I sell or transfer my Demonstrator business?

Selling or transferring a Demonstrator’s business is not permissible. The Agreement with each Demonstrator is a personal contract to Gold Canyon and may not be transferred by the Demonstrator to a third party.

Do you take taxes out of my commission checks?

Because Demonstrators are considered independent contractors, it is the responsibility of the Demonstrator to pay Social Security tax and any other applicable taxes. Gold Canyon does not deduct any taxes from Demonstrator commission checks. Each year, Gold Canyon will issue an IRS Form 1099 Misc. to each Demonstrator for the prior year’s earnings, provided they have earned at least $600.00 (the lowest amount in annual compensation that must be reported to the IRS) in override commissions, incentives, including trip incentives and other reportable earnings.
